NO TO SLAVERY IN LIBYA

Image
In April 2017, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that along the North African migrant routes its staff discovered "slave markets" where hundreds of African young men are being tormented. But following CNN's release of footage showing men being sold by an auctioneer for the equivalent of $800, there was finally international outrage. There were demonstrations in  Paris,  Stockholm and New York with  slogans such as "Free our brothers!" and "Black people are not slaves!"  The chairman of the African Union,   Guinean President Alpha Conde, demanded prosecutions for these crimes and Libya announced it was reportedly launching an investigation into the matter.  But while the outrage has focused on the Libyan authorities, it has very much ignored the role the European Union has played in enabling such despicable abuse. The EU has pushed to curb migration and tighten its borders, but it has not provided alternative safe and

How Louis Ville Girls’ Secondary School , Gwagwalada Abuja Killed My Daughter Please read and share till Kamzie gets justice. It all happened at Louis Ville Girls’ Secondary School Gwagwalada, Abuja on 2nd October, 2017. According to eyewitnesses  and letters students wrote to console my first daughter who was in the same school, my late daughter was severely sick, she kept crying and feeling home sick but was neglected. Two teachers were informed that she was sick by her seniors in school but they didn't inform the school authorities or call us so they didn't attend to her or take care of her, even the nurse that was on duty once chased her away that she wasn't sick but was pretending. According to the students, all this happened on 5th and 6th of October. Then she visited again on Saturday 7th and she was given paracetamol and was sent back to the hostel. On Monday 9th she reported again  complaining of headache, they ran a test, and her test result came out negat

LIFE

Image
Life is very unpredictable, sometimes you go to the LEFT where nothing is RIGHT and sometimes you go the RIGHT where nothing is LEFT. Today,s decision can determine your tomorrow's destination. Be honest with yourself when making a choice. Decision making is one of the hardest things in life. A confused man is a blind man, be very careful if you don't know where you are going, because you might end up no where in life. KNOWLEDGE is knowing what you WANT while WISDOM is choosing what you NEED. Never loose your priorities in your journey of life. Don't be too shy or too proud to seek advice, but be very careful from who and where you seek advice. The only advice you can get from a fool is a foolish advice. Don't make decisions when you are sad and don't make promises when you are happy. Never make a permanent decision in a temporary situation. Blindness is never in the lost sight but in the lost focus. The best way to see life is to so

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Image
Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day for families and friends to get together for a special meal. The meal often includes a turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, pumpkin pie, and vegetables. Thanksgiving Day is a time for many people to give thanks for what they have. Thanksgiving Day parades are held in some cities and towns on or around Thanksgiving Day. Some parades or festivities also mark the opening of the Christmas shopping season. Some people have a four-day weekend so it is a popular time for trips and to visit family and friends. Gratitude comes from appreciating what you've received, but also what you’re able to give. Happy Thanksgiving

Dear salarian!

If your boss pays you N30,000 per month, assuming you decide to save all without touching a dime, it will take you 36months to make N1million.(Did I hear you say 3years?)  Absolutely! On the other hand, if you can convince an organisation like Dangote Group To print and supply 5000 umbrellas to them (to be used as souvenirs) and you make just N200 profit per umbrella, in just one day you must have made N1million.  What about becoming a *Billionaire*? That's where it gets crazy! OK, now let's increase your pay to N1,000,000 per month and you decide to save all without touching a dime. In a year, you must have saved N12million. It will take about 84 years before you can make N1billion. (Please subtract your current age).  On the other hand, Nigeria has a population of about 170 million people,If you can supply salt to just 12million, once in a month and you make just N200 from each person supplied, in one year, you must have made N2.4billion. This shows that to

Robert Mugabe will be remembered for his sweet quotes.

Anyway, which one is your pick for the end of the year? 1--A girl can be 21 with 2 kids while another one can be 18 with 3 abortions but the society will judge the 21 year old simply because her decisions are visible. 2--Most men cheat with their wedding ring on their finger. And you think your boyfriend won’t cheat coz YOU'RE his profile picture?? 3--We are living in a generation where lovers are free to touch each others private parts but cannot touch each others phone. 4--All I hear is “NO SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE”. If that was God’s plan then u would have receive your penis or vagina on your wedding day. 5--Dating a slim/ slender guy is cool, the only problem is when you are lying on his chest then his ribs draw Adidas lines on your face. 6--Love is when your boyfriend catches you naked with another man and says honey dress up and we go home. 7--Some girls of today can’t jog for five minutes, but they expect a guy to last in bed with them for 2 hours. Beyond Anambra: imperative of a new politics. Emmanuel Ojeifo

“In all, we hold our heads high – high because we did not lose the poll due to paucity of ideas or lack of structure; we lost to superior financial power… We, therefore, make no apologies for our decision to refrain from money politics and chart a new course for a clean, knowledge-based campaign driven by patriotism.”  – Osita Chidoka, UPP Anambra governorship candidate (November 19, 2017) If I had published this piece before the Anambra governorship election which took place last Saturday, the title would have been slightly different. It would have read, ‘Chidoka and the new politics,’ and I would have started it this way: Osita Chidoka will probably not win the Anambra governorship election – I do not mean this maliciously – but he surely has started the conversation around a new kind of politics that is sorely needed in Nigeria today, and that is the politics of ideas. When in 2016 I envisioned starting a new book club in Abuja, for promoting the culture of reading and intelligen
