THE WILLIAMS SISTER

Image
The  Williams sisters  are two professional American tennis players:  Venus Williams  (b. 1980), a seven-time Grand Slam title winner (singles), and  Serena Williams  (b. 1981), twenty-three-time Grand Slam title winner (singles), both of whom were coached from an early age by their parents  Richard Williams  and  Oracene Price . There is a  noted professional rivalry  between them – between the 2001 US Open and the 2017 Australian Open tournaments, they met in nine Grand Slam singles finals. They became the first two players, female or male, to play in 4 consecutive grand slam singles finals from the 2002 French Open to the 2003 Australian Open; Serena famously won all 4 to complete the first of two "Serena Slams". Between 2000 and 2016, a 17-year span, they collectively won 12 Wimbledon singles titles (Venus won 5 and Serena won 7). By winning the 2001 Australian Open women's doubles title, they became the 5th pair to complete the Career Doubles Grand Slam

LET LOVE LEAD

Image
When we love, our lives become examples for others to follow. When we love, we give a practical demonstration of our faith to others. When we love we are seen to be serving a living and true God. When we truly love as God taught us to, we are delivered from the wrath to come. Let us therefore truly love. Let us learn to love from God Himself. Let us not permit the wrong interpretations of love in our modern society to confuse and blind us to the reality of true and lasting love that God wants us to show towards Him and our neighbours. Great week

Friday Reflections

The following reflection is courtesy of Don Schwager © 2017. Don's website is located at Dailyscripture.ServantsOfTheWord.org Meditation: How good are you at reading warning signs? Jesus expects his disciples to accurately read the signs of the times! Seafarers and farmers know the importance of spotting weather conditions for safe travel and planting. A lot of effort is made today, with the help of science and technology, to discern potential natural dangers, such as tropical storms, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, earth quakes, and erupting volcanoes, so that people can be warned to take shelter before disaster hits. Don't miss God's kingdom and power to transform your life Our need for accurately discerning the spiritual condition and moral climate around us is vital if we want to avert spiritual crisis and moral disaster. The Lord is ready to transform our lives by offering us his kingdom of righteousness (moral goodness), peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:

"WHO PUSHED ME"

🐊 A man had one very beautiful daughter. When the daughter was ready for marriage, the father sent news around town that all the eligible young men should come to compete in a test which would determine who was fit to marry his daughter. 🐊 On that day, all was set, all the able-bodied young men came out. Some came with paper and biro and others with cutlasses and swords. 🐊 The rich man took them to his swimming pool and addressed the men: “Any of you who can swim from one end of this swimming pool to the other would marry my daughter. 🐊 In addition, I‘ll give him 15 million dollars, a car and a house so they can start life well. I shall be waiting to meet my son-in-law at the other end. Good luck!” 🐊 As the young men, all very excited at the prospect of winning, started taking off their shirts, a helicopter came over the pool and dropped alligators and crocodiles into the pool. Immediately, all the men turned back and started wearing their shirts again. Disappointed, som

THE CATHOLIC MASS AND THE BIBLE

Recently, I visited an older priest in his Parish. He was passing his evening with a book written by a Presbyterian minister and Professor of Theology who converted to the Catholic Church. Scot Hahn was a scripture scholar researching on the book of Revelation. He saw in the mass, the oldest Christian worship, the key to understanding the divine liturgies of this last book of the Bible. The title of his book is: THE LAMB'S SUPPER: THE MASS AS HEAVEN ON EARTH.  Based on the testimony of Scot Hahn and my experience as a priest that offers the mass every morning I see the following as worthy of sharing . THE MASS AND THE SCRIPTURES INTRODUCTION When people say that the Mass is unscriptural, I simply laugh in Japanese (don’t ask me how that is done!). I laugh because it is not only wrong but even that statement does not anticipate the kind of response that any knowledgeable Catholic would give. To put it nicely, the Mass is the only place where we read more passages at a time! C

THE LITTLE SECRET OF GREAT ACHIEVERS

___________________________________________ If 100 hits will bring down a wall. It wasn't the first hit on the wall that brought it down, neither was it the hundredth hit. But it was the consistent hits on the wall that weakened it and brought it down. I have found out that most times, successful people are not the most educated, they are not the most powerful neither are they the most skillful. But one little secret have kept them to the top, and have guided them to the path of great achievements. What is that little secret? ...I know you want to know that little secret. It is the 'Secret of consistency'. The only way you can be an authority in any field (and make people to trust and love you) is to only remain consistent in your works and deeds. It doesn't matter how little the work may be today, if only you won't slumber but remain consistent in the work then you will be honored at last. If you want to be a great achiever. Here are the 3 key areas, you mus
